Screen Door Secures Rights to Lori Lansen's Novel 'Rush Home Road'!

Screen Door Inc. have picked up film rights to Lori Lansens’ novel Rush Home Road! Rush Home Road is the story of the touching relationship between an elderly black woman at the end of her years and a young mixed-race girl abandoned by her white mother in a Southern Ontario trailer park. Spanning generations from the 1920's to 1980's, SD will produce this epic story as a TV miniseries. SD have a great history of bringing large event mini-series successfully to the screen with mini's like The Avro Arrow, Shattered City, and soon to be released, Everest. The novel was published by Knopf and Vintage in Canada, by Little, Brown in the USA, and in 9 other countries. Originally optioned by Whoopi Goldberg, who renewed the option once, Screen Door scooped the rights when they recently became available.
