Here's what's happening today on the small screen:

* MVP: The Secret Lives of Hockey Wives features a ripped-from-the-headlines plot that mirrors Canadian NHL player Todd Bertuzzi's infamous on-ice attack on player Steve Moore in 2004. Former Canadian Football League player Peter Miller acts in this episode as a fictional troubled hockey star that starts the fight. (CBC)

* The roommate rivals in the hilarious competition series Kenny Vs. Spenny open the doors of their Toronto home (and fridge) for the Cribs cameras. Also featured is the sprawling Los Angeles fortress of Leah Remini from King of Queens. (MTV)

* On Extras, Patrick Stewart of Star Trek fame guest-stars as himself but - as with most celebrity cameos on this show - he has a dark and dirty-minded alter-ego. This episode also sees Andy's TV screenplay winding up in the hands of executives at the BBC. (The Comedy Network)

* For more Brit humour, venture over to Saxondale, having its season 2 premiere in Canada tonight. The sitcom stars Steve Coogan (who is also co-writer) as Tom Saxondale, a caustic former roadie who now owns his own pest-control business. This season he strikes up a romance with the owner of an anarchic T-shirt shop. (Showcase)

* The final hours of cult leader David Koresh's life are outlined in Final 24. Koresh was the leader of the Branch Davidians religious sect whose centre in Waco, Texas, burned down after a 1993 FBI raid. (E)
